This week was all about EYE'S! We talked about eyes and played with our eyes, opening them and closing them. Blinking them quickly and blinking them slowly. We made big eyes and squinting eyes. Yes...we had a blast with our eyes!
I didn't get a lot of pictures because we did a lot of stuff together and I couldn't take pictures of that. I did however, get some pictures of him using the work that he enjoyed the most this week.
We read Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr. and Eric Carle. We also read Eyes, Nose, Fingers, Toes by judy Hindley and Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown.
Here's one of the eye poems we did this week
Here Are My Eyes
Here are my eyes, (point to eyes)
One and two,
I can wink, (wink)
So can you.
When my eyes are open, (open eyes wide)
I see the light.
When they are closed, (close eyes)
It's dark as night.

Our songs and poems were taken from The Complete Resource Book for Toddlers and Twos by Pam Schiller.
I made a fun felt face puzzle and just used the "eyes" to talk about this week. We will be using the entire puzzle as we continue to discuss the parts of the face.
I also made a flip book all about the eyes, blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes...all kinds of eyes.
RJ enjoyed looking at all of the different eyes and even tried to say "eye" a few times...it sounded more like "aaaa" though, but I was happy about the attempt.
I think this flip book really hit home with him in conjunction with letting him poke my eyes out trying to touch them.
Here are some photos that I did get of him this week, he LOVES practicing his new skill of putting the chips in a can. It was his favorite activity again this week.
He's never gets tired of this
He also gave the straws a shot this week...I let him choose his own work and that is what he picked.
He didn't quite get the straws in the container but he enjoyed trying to figure out how to open and close the top.
He had a Dr. appointment this week and had a blast playing with the large bead maze...I have a pic to share.
That's pretty much what we did this week, it was a lot but unfortunately I don't have many pictures to show y'all. I think he understands the word eye and can point to his (or my) eyes.
Thanks for stopping by!
